Centro’s Martin Betoni to Debate the Importance of Quality Creative in a Data-Driven World at OMMA AdNets 2010
CHICAGO—July 16, 2010— Centro, a technology and media services company, announced today that their creative director, Martin Betoni, will be speaking at OMMA AdNets on Monday, July 19 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. During the session, “Get Me Creative! Does Don Draper Have Any Place in a Data-Driven World?” panelists will argue the cause and effect of hyper-targeting on campaigns and creative departments.
This session will ask agency creatives to explore how the new audience-centric, data-obsessed network economy changes what they do. According to Betoni, “Targeting techniques are merely a ‘Band-Aid’ for the data-driven bottom line, but cannot fully cover the much larger issue of getting maximum returns from digital advertising.” While the Madison Avenue “Ad” men have been around for decades, online advertising-specific creative is still in its relative infancy. Technology targeting, placement and messaging capabilities help facilitate the relationship between advertisers and consumers, but it must be acknowledged that relying on technology solutions alone may ultimately limit a campaign’s reach.
Betoni is among a select panel of industry experts who will debate the need for creative as a conversion tool and the future of display in a technology-driven advertising environment. Betoni believes that technology should be a driving force behind developing creative formats that create a seamless and compelling experience for the user. Technology should also facilitate the media planning process of these unique formats, which he predicts will become the new “premium” ad creative.
The session will take place at 2:30 p.m. and will be moderated by Mike Leo, CEO of Operative. Other panelists include:
• Russ Axelrod, senior brand strategist of Microsoft Advertising
• Jeff Hochberg, VP of audience targeting sales at AOL
• Ken Martin, chief creative officer of BLITZ
• Sacha Reeb, executive creative director of Organic, Inc.
